L1 Lounge Series – General Specifications

FRAME

End frame assemblies are constructed of 1" x 3"W solid red oak with outside edges bullnosed. All pieces are mortised, tenoned, and glued to form a solid frame. Leg type or sled type is available.

The front facing of 1" x 3-1/2"W solid oak and the back rail of 1" x 3-1/2"W solid oak are mortised, tenoned, and glued into the end frame assemblies. Solid hardwood corner blocks are positioned under the cushion frame and screwed to the end frame and the front and back rails.

UPHOLSTERED SEAT / BACK PANEL

The seat and back frame are a single piece of 3/4" bent plywood. The seat portion is fitted with Dimatrol Webbing and covered with black cambric fabric for comfort.

This is then covered with 3-1/2" thick foam, which is also used on the chair back. The foam is mitered at the joint of both the seat and back.

The entire seat and back assembly is upholstered in specified fabric, except for the underside of the seat, which is covered with black cambric fabric.

• CS-191-53 Class 1

Fabrics meeting California Technical Bulletin #133 are available.

L1 seating has passed the American National Standards Test X5.4-1983 (ANSI).

GLIDES

Each end frame assembly receives two 1" diameter rubber-cushioned glides.

BENCH – FRAME

End frame assemblies are constructed of 1" x 3"W or 5"W solid oak with all edges heavily eased. Facing rails are 1" x 3"W solid oak.

Bench seats are attached to end frame assemblies by bolting through solid hardwood bolting blocks into internally and externally threaded brass bushings embedded into end frames.

LOUNGE TABLES – FRAME

TABLETOP

Tabletop is 3-ply construction consisting of:

• 3/4" thick particleboard core
• 3" wood facings
• .50" thick high-pressure laminate top sheet
• Backing sheet not less than .20" thick for balanced construction

High-pressure laminate has a low-glare finish resistant to scratches, fading, and staining.
